Auxiliary Training

In conjunction with April 2013 general conference, the general auxiliary presidencies will hold training for stake and ward auxiliary leaders. This training is designed to help leaders learn their duties and to introduce resource materials that can be used for priesthood and auxiliary leadership training.
Stake, ward, and branch auxiliary presidencies are invited to participate in the training; however, they should not feel obligated to attend. Please note that each organization will provide a session via webcast, which may be viewed live or on demand following the live broadcast.

Easter idea (template)

Celia had noticed that I forgot to post this template
 Here it is:

Easter Bunny Cake

This cute bunny is easily made from carrot cake mix frosted and covered with mouthwatering coconut.
The recipe is from Betty Crocker.

Ingredients:

1
box Betty Crocker® SuperMoist® carrot cake mix
Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box
Tray or cardboard covered with wrapping paper and plastic food wrap or foil
1
container Betty Crocker® Whipped fluffy white frosting
1
cup shredded coconut
Construction paper
Jelly beans or small gumdrops, as desired
1
cup shredded coconut
Green food color

  1. Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pans). Make, bake and cool cake as directed on box for two 8-inch or 9-inch round pans.
  2. Reserve 1 layer for another use or to make a second bunny. Cut 1 layer in half as shown in diagram. Put halves together with frosting to make body. Place cake upright on cut edge on tray.
  3. Cut out a notch about one-third of the way up one end of body to form head (small end) as shown in diagram. Attach half of cutout piece from tail with toothpicks. Frost with remaining frosting, rounding body on sides. Sprinkle with 1 cup coconut. Cut ears from construction paper; wrap ends that will be inserted into cake with plastic food wrap. Press into notch on top. Use jelly beans for eyes and nose.
  4. Shake 1 cup coconut and 3 drops food color in tightly covered jar until evenly tinted. Surround bunny with tinted coconut. Add additional jelly beans if desired. Remove ears, plastic wrap and toothpicks before serving. Store loosely covered.
Makes 12 servings

Les Mis' One Day More (Missionary Parody)

Description from YouTube: "This is merely a song visually altered to describe the story of a missionary (Adam Tanner) who receives his mission call and must say goodbye to his needy BYU girlfriend (Jenni Zackrison). Also following the loneliness and despair of Eponine (Julie Jacobs) who continues to stalk the elder to no end. On the other side of the earth, a district leader breaks the rules by watching a movie in a theater while on his mission and remains afraid that he will soon be in deep doo-doo. Back at home- as the mission prep instructor (Grant Amann) prepares his students, the missionary must come to a choice on whether to serve the Lord or to shrivel away forever. At the same time, a punk (Ryan Humphrey) watches the prep-class and decides to serve a mission as well........ while two hungry members sneak into the church kitchen and find the LDS church's beloved green-jello and diet products."

How has the Book of Mormon helped you to prepare to serve a mission or with the missionary experiences you are having now?

The New Era is preparing an article and needs your stories about how the Book of Mormon helps prepare you for missionary service—as a full-time missionary or as a youth having missionary experiences now. They are looking for your stories and experiences, not just the theory behind it.
Submissions can be from recently returned missionaries, those currently in the field, or youth.
Please send your submissions to newera@ldschurch.org.
Remember to include your relevant contact information, such as name, age, place of residence, phone number, and email. The deadline is Wednesday Feb. 20, so if you want to send a story, don't procrastinate. Thanks!
